Solo Piano

Félix Stüssi has gained a reputation not only as a bandleader, arranger, composer and sideman but also as an accomplished solo artist. In 2003 the radio of Radio-Canada recorded a 45 minute concert which was broadcasted nationwide as part of the «Club de Minuit» series (exerpt). In spring of 2006, Félix Stüssi helped celebrate the 100th birthday of «Le Guilde des Musiciens & Musiciennes du Québec» by performing a solo concert at «Le centre d’histoire de Montréal».

Give me five

Alexandre Côté, alto sax; Bruno Lamarche, tenor sax; Félix Stüssi, piano, composition and arrangements; Clinton Ryder, double bass; Isaiah Ceccarelli, drums. The group toured Switzerland in spring 2005, appearing at «Moods«, Zürich, and «Obere Mühle», Dübendorf, among other places. The quintet was featured in the «L’OFF Festival de Jazz de Montréal» in 2005. The first CD, «Félix Stüssi & Give me five» has been released in April 2007. The group has won the prestigious General Motors Grand Jazz Award of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal 2007.

Félix Stüssi Trio

Félix Stüssi, piano, composition and arrangements; Clinton Ryder, double bass; Isaiah Ceccarelli, drums. The trio appeared in the «Festival International de Jazz de Montréal» in 2005, performing on the Radio-Canada/CBC stage (excerpt). Stüssi and bassist Ryder also perform regularly as a duo at «Bily Kun».

Les Tueurs à Jazz

Roger Walls Quartet

Roger Walls, trumpet, vocals; Félix Stüssi, piano; Jean Cyr or Alex Bellegarde, double bass; Andy Shorter oder Jeff Simons, drums.  Walls has played with them all including Duke Ellington Orchestra, Ella Fitzgerald, Cab Calloway, Tony Bennett, D.D. Bridgewater, Dean Martin, Tom Jones, Paul Anka .... and the list goes on. The Quartet performs at local Montréal Jazz clubs such as «House of Jazz» and «Upstairs».

JoAnn Blondin Quintette

JoAnn Blondin, leader and drums; Josée Blondin, tenorsax and flute; Félix Stüssi, piano; with guest musicians David Carbonneau, trumpet; and Samuel Cournoyer, double bass. JoAnn Blondin looks back on a successful career as a Rock and Pop musician (Claude Dubois, Cirque du Soleil). As a  Jazz artist, JoAnn has made her mark as a sidewoman in different projects, for example: «Elles Jazzent» with, among others,  Lorraine Desmarais and Ingrid Jensen. Now she has decided to lead her own band. Recordings are scheduled for the fall 2006.

Stüssi’s HotJazzBand

As part of the series «Le Jazz Hot», the Stüssi’s HotJazzBand plays two or three Saturdays a month for the dancers at the «Studio-88-Swing Club». The lineup of the quartet rotates between Roger Walls or Charles Imbeau, trumpet and vocals; Luc Murphy, saxophone, flute and vocals; Jean Cyr or Olivier Laroche, double bass; Jeff Simons or JoAnn Blondin on drums.  Jeff Simons also performs as a singer.

Swing Our Souls

This octet has been founded in 1998. It is rather difficult to book the band because of it’s size, but when there is an occasion, everybody has a ball! Sonia Johnson, vocals; Ivanhoe Jolicoeur, trumpet; Marc Villiard, alto sax; Jean-François Ouellet, tenor sax; Bruce Pepper, trombone; Félix Stüssi, leader, composition and arrangements; Alex Bellegarde, double bass; Michel Berthiaume, drums.

Happy Hour Duos

Since 2004, bassist Olivier Laroche and pianist Félix Stüssi (picture) have played the «Gotha Lounge» every Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Félix Stüssi also performs regularly at «Bily Kun» since the beginnings of this legendary bar in 1998. Besides all this, Stüssi often tickles the ivories for cocktail parties, vernissages, marriages, meetings etc. Regular duo partners are the double bassists Daniel Lessard, Clinton Ryder and Remi-Jean Leblanc, the saxophonists Luc Murphy, Shmil Berniker and  Bruno Lamarche along with guitarist Axel Fisch.

Luc Murphy Duo, Trio and Quartet

Luc Murphy is a talented singer, entertainer, and multi-instrumentalist who plays alto, tenor, and soprano saxophones, flute, and percusssions. After years of touring Asia and the Near East, he has returned to his hometown of Montréal. Murphy is equally at home playing Jazz, Blues, Rock, Pop and Latin music.
